S.H.A.P.E. Community Center will host its 23rd Pan-African cultural Festival - an outdoor festival celebrating the African-American cultural experience, ancestry, heritage and tradition from throughout the African Diaspora with music, dance, storytelling and other expressive art forms from the Caribbean, East, West and South Africa and other areas showing the rich cultural influence of African-Americans.
Last year more than 50,000 people participated in the Pan-African Cultural Festival. The exciting weekend was filled with laughter, fun music, food and lots of entertainment for the entire family. Unlike many of the other festivals that are held in Houston, this citywide festival is offered absolutely FREE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC.
The Festival will focus on the broad scope of African Culture. Pan means all - African Cultural Experience. with music, dance, song, drums, food and family -- in three days of wholesome and healthy fun for the entire family.
