In 28 years, SHAPE has taken over 1,400 young people and adults on a pilgrimage of the deep south, strengthening our mission to invoke in them that “a people without the knowledge of their past history, origin, and culture is like a tree without roots.”

Over 6,000 children have attended SHAPE’s summer and after school programs.

SHAPE has held parenting meetings for 35 years, supporting over 4,000 families.

SHAPE has been the sole library and computer center to over 3,000 community children and families.

SHAPE feeds an average of 70 elders per week, feeding over 80,080 elders for 22 years!

More than 6,300 community stakeholders have participated in SHAPE’s fruit and vegetable co-op.

SHAPE has sponsored about 100 men and women in attending a Minnesota drug and alcohol rehabilitation center with remarkable success.

Over 50, 000 persons have viewed SHAPE as an organization worthy of their volunteer time and talents.

SHAPE has led the fight for justice for all people by organizing and strategizing countless marches, demonstrations, town hall meetings, workshops, and rallies, including, but not limited to:

The next 50 years will provide a measurement of SHAPE’s past and will showcase the visions manifested in its tomorrow. At the end of the pledge period, completed pledgees will be honored at the 50th Anniversary Banquet and also listed in the anniversary book.
